Scootboot launches world-first Global Barefoot Achievement Awards
Scootboot today launched the first ever Global Barefoot Awards aimed at celebrating the achievements of those helping advance the barefoot movement.
It is clinically proven that barefoot is best for horses enabling natural growth and movement of horses' hooves and giving them healthier, happier and longer lives.
As the world’s leading premium hoof boot supplier, Scootboot is a strong advocate for barefoot and has worked to evolve the sector since inception 11 years ago.
Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador Annette Kaitinis said the award program was one way to thank the individuals and businesses who have contributed significantly to promote and grow the number of horses going barefoot and continue to challenge the age-old tradition of using metal shoes.
“We’re looking for the quiet achievers who are experts in their field and help owners keep their horses barefoot and enable others to transition away from shoeing,” Ms Kaitinis said.
“We really want to encourage riders and owners world-wide to allow their horses to go barefoot and enjoy the freedom that barefoot provides.”
She said Scootboot continues to expand its range of hoof boots to reach more and more horses wherever they are on their barefoot journey.
The most recent innovation is the Scootboot Theraride which is the only hoof boot designed for rehabilitation and therapy through to light riding.
Other recent innovations include the MultiPurpose Gaiter which gives added comfort and security, and the new studs that give Showjumpers the traction they need when competing, negating the need for shoeing.
The Global Barefoot Awards seek entries from all riding disciplines around the world. The two categories include:

The Individual Award for those who are actively working with horses and riders and educating on the benefits of barefoot - $1500 AUD prize

Business Award for entities who are driving the barefoot movement forward and impacting the sector significantly as they advocate for change - $5,000 AUD prize

Entries close on 15th November 2026 with the winners announced on 8th December.
The judging panel includes leading global equine authorities involved in the barefoot movement who have worked with Scootboot over the years.
