Still unsure which pathway is right for you?

We understand that every equine business works differently. These common questions will help guide your decision.

My business includes both retail and working with horses, which should I choose?

The simplest way to decide is to consider whether you are prepared to hold stock.

If you want to hold inventory, manage sizing and support customers directly, the Stockist pathway is the right fit.

If you prefer to focus on working with horses and do not want to manage stock, orders or after-sales, we recommend starting as a Trade Partner.

Many businesses begin as Trade Partners and transition to Stockists as their business grows.

Can I be both a Stockist and a Trade Partner?

No. Each pathway is designed around a different way of operating.

Stockists hold stock and sell directly to customers, while Trade Partners focus on providing professional recommendations without managing retail operations. Keeping these pathways separate ensures a clear and consistent experience for customers.

Are there minimum requirements for becoming a Stockist?

Yes. Stockists operate under a wholesale model, which includes minimum order quantities.

Holding stock is an important part of the Stockist pathway, ensuring you can properly support your customers with sizing, availability and after-sales care. Our team will guide you through these requirements during the application process.

As a Stockist, am I responsible for exchanges and returns?

Yes. As a Stockist, you are responsible for supporting your customers with exchanges, returns and after-sales care for Scootboot products you sell.

This is an important part of the retail experience and ensures your customers receive the right fit and ongoing support.

How do Trade Partner commissions work?

As a Trade Partner, you receive 15% commission on retail sales made using your Trade Partner code.

Your clients purchase directly from Scootboot and receive 10% off their order, allowing you to focus on your work with horses while earning commissions from your recommendations.

When do Trade Partners get paid?

Commissions are calculated and paid monthly via PayPal once reaching a threshold. If you don’t have an active PayPal account see the instructions here: Create Your Account

Our team will provide full details during onboarding so you have clear visibility on how your earnings are tracked and paid.

Do I need to be experienced with Scootboots to apply?

No. Whether you are new to Scootboots or already familiar with the product, we provide the guidance and support you need to get started.

Stockists receive tailored training for their team, and Trade Partners have access to product guidance and resources to support their recommendations.

If I choose one pathway and it doesn’t suit my business, can I switch?

Yes. As your business evolves, your pathway can change with it.

If your circumstances change, simply reach out to our team, and we will guide you through transitioning to the pathway that best fits how you operate.

Is there an option for influencers or content creators?

Yes. If your focus is content creation, social media or working with an online audience, our Affiliate Program may be a better fit.

The Affiliate Program is designed for equine influencers, ambassadors and content creators who promote Scootboots through their platforms. Affiliates earn commissions through a referral code, without holding stock or managing customer orders.
