Across the world, more horse owners are exploring alternative approaches to hoof care, professionals are sharing knowledge and education, and businesses and organisations are working to improve the way we understand, manage and support the barefoot horse.
Behind this movement are thousands of people doing meaningful work every day. They are educating horse owners, advocating for horses, challenging established ideas, developing new approaches and helping create better outcomes for horses around the world.
At Scootboot, we have had the privilege of working alongside many of these people over the years.
Now, we want to recognise them.
Introducing the Scootboot Global Barefoot Awards
The Scootboot Global Barefoot Awards 2026 have been created to celebrate the individuals, businesses and organisations helping to drive the barefoot movement forward.
We believe the people contributing to barefoot horse care deserve to have their work recognised. Whether they are professional hoof care providers, educators, advocates, business owners, community leaders, content creators, organisations or individuals making a meaningful difference, their contributions help shape the future of barefoot horse care.
The Global Barefoot Awards are our way of shining a light on that work and celebrating the people behind it.
We believe this is the first global awards program created specifically to recognise contributions to the barefoot movement on this scale, bringing together individuals and organisations from around the world.
And importantly, you do not have to be based in a particular country to take part.
The awards are global.
Two Awards. One Global Movement.
The Scootboot Global Barefoot Awards feature two categories, recognising contributions from both individuals and businesses or organisations.
Individual Global Barefoot Award | $1,500 AUD
This award recognises individuals who are making a meaningful contribution to the barefoot movement in a personal capacity.
That could be through education, advocacy, community involvement, content creation, research, horse care or another contribution that is helping move the conversation around barefoot hoof care forward.
You do not need to run a business to make a difference.
Sometimes, the people creating meaningful change are simply those who share their knowledge, help others, ask questions, challenge assumptions and advocate for better outcomes for horses.
Business / Organisation Global Barefoot Award | $5,000 AUD
This award recognises businesses, operators and organisations using their work, services, networks or platforms to advance the barefoot movement.
This includes non profit organisations and businesses working across areas such as hoof care, education, advocacy, rehabilitation, research, community building and other areas that contribute positively to barefoot horse care.
The award celebrates leadership, education, advocacy and positive impact within the barefoot community.
Why Did Scootboot Create the Awards?
For years, Scootboot has worked with people across the global barefoot community.
We have seen first hand the dedication that goes into helping horses transition to barefoot, supporting owners through challenges, educating communities and continually searching for better ways to care for horses.
We have also seen how much of this work happens behind the scenes.
A hoof care professional helping one horse at a time.
A business developing products or services to support barefoot horses.
An educator sharing information with thousands of horse owners.
An individual creating a community where people can learn and ask questions.
An organisation advocating for better welfare and education.
These contributions matter.
The barefoot movement is not driven by one person, one business or one approach. It is made up of people all over the world who are contributing in different ways.
The Global Barefoot Awards were created to celebrate that collective effort.

The Scootboot Global Barefoot Awards are open to people and organisations from anywhere in the world.
Whether you are based in Australia, South America, the United States, Canada, Africa, the United Kingdom, Europe, New Zealand, Asia or anywhere else, your contribution to the barefoot movement can be recognised.
We want these awards to reflect the truly global nature of barefoot horse care and the incredible diversity of people contributing to it.

Winners announced: 8 December 2026
